How To Choose Your Wedding Day Makeup

THERE ARE SO MANY CHOICES. . . . WHERE DO I BEGIN?

You’ve gone through the last 6 months to a year making all of the preparations, but there is one thing you haven’t thought of. . . . MAKEUP! Whether you have hired a professional makeup artist or you are doing it yourself, you still need to decide what look you want to rock on your wedding day.

This decision can be quite a tough one considering there are so many different colors, finishes, and intensities to think about. Luckily, I have narrowed down some popular looks to hopefully make this decision a little easier for you!

***NOTE: When going through these photos, keep in mind your wedding color scheme, bridesmaid dress colors, and florals.

THE EVERYDAY BRIDE

This look is what I like to call The Everyday Bride. This is the bride that does not usually wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis and just wants to be an enhanced version of herself. This is the MAJORITY of what my brides usually choose! It features a neutral eye look, glowy skin, and a nude lip with some natural false lashes. Keep in mind, the more simple the look is, the easier it is to maintain throughout the night (the only thing you will need to touch up would be the lip color whenever you eat or drink). Here are more examples of this look below, but with different natural eyeshadow colors!

All matte eyeshadow (no shimmer or glitter)
Nude lip with gloss
Natural false lashes
Warm brown eyeshadow with gold shimmer
Nude lip with gloss
No false lashes

BRONZE GODDESS

This look is what I call Bronze Goddess. This is my personal favorite out of all of the looks! This is for the bride that loves her golds and wants to amp up the look a little while still being natural! It features warm toned bronze/gold tones with a neutral lip color. I have found throughout my years of doing makeup, warm toned colors tend to suit a vast majority of skin tones and age ranges! This look in the picture has longer false lashes and a sharp winged eyeliner to tie the look together. There are several varieties of the Bronze Goddess look, so I’ve included more examples below!

Warm brown eyeshadow with gold shimmer
Nude lip with gloss
Natural false lashes
All matte eyeshadow (no shimmer- more orange)
Nude lip
Natural false lashes

BURGUNDY BABE

This look is the Burgundy Babe! As the name states, this is the bride that loves her burgundy tones and wants to be a little more bold with her look. Believe it or not, mauve or burgundy colors are SUPER flattering on all skin tones and age ranges as well! This look features a burgundy toned eyeshadow with a nude lip or a mauve toned lip. Most of the time, brides will choose this look because burgundy is one of their wedding colors or the bridesmaids may have burgundy dresses. The look is very eye catching! Here are some more varieties of this look below.

Burgundy eyeshadow with slight shimmer
Nude lip with gloss
Dramatic false lashes
All matte burgundy eyeshadow
Mauve toned lip
Natural false lashes

SULTRY & SMOKEY

This is the classic smokey eye look, Sultry & Smokey. This is probably one of the most well-known makeup looks whenever someone thinks of makeup in general. I’ve only done this look a handful of times on brides, but some brides just like the drama! This look features a dark brown, gray, or black toned eyeshadow with a nude or bold lip. I’ve included more examples below with this look!

All matte dark brown eyeshadow
Nude lip
Dramatic false lashes
Black eyeshadow with gray shimmer
Red lips
Natural false lashes

These are some of my most popular looks that I’ve done for my brides, but there are so many more varieties and color combos! Keep in mind that makeup is personal and there isn’t a right or a wrong look to do for your wedding day. As long as you are happy with the look, that’s all that matters!

STAY BEAUTIFUL!!
